Gordian III, 238-244. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 31 mm, 18.82 g, 12 h), Rome, 241-243. IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian III to right, seen from behind. Rev. LAETITIA AVG N / S - C Laetitia standing left, holding wreath in right hand and anchor in left. Cohen 122. RIC 300a. A beautiful example with an enamel-like green patina and an illustrious pedigree going back more than 100 years. Minor marks and with some doubling on the reverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
